What Talk City Is
Talk City is a one-on-one video chat for adults. You say who you are and who you would like to meet, press start, and the site pairs you with someone else who is online. When a conversation has run its course, press Next and you are paired again.
It runs in your browser, on computers and phones. All it needs is permission to use your camera and microphone. There is nothing to install, and you can start without an account.
Talk City shares its lobby with the other chat sites in our network, so the person you meet may have started on another site. That keeps the wait short, especially at quiet hours.
The chat is free to use. It is paid for by ads from our partners, which you will see beside the chat. Clicking one is always your choice, and anything you buy there is between you and that partner.

Choose to meet women or men, or people from the countries you pick. Filters use karma, points you earn free by chatting and coming back. Karma cannot be bought.
Chat Again
Enjoyed talking to someone? Like them and offer to chat again. With an account you can also keep them as a friend.

The chat speaks English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and five more, whichever page you start from.
Report and Block
One tap reports someone who breaks the rules and moves you on. Reports go to our moderators, and rule breakers lose access.
Staying Safe on Talk City
Remember that you are talking to a stranger. Keep your name, address, workplace and social accounts to yourself, and leave a chat the moment it feels wrong: Next is always one tap away.
The other person can record or screenshot their own screen, and we cannot detect or stop that. With a direct connection they may also be able to see your IP address.
If someone breaks the rules, report them from inside the chat. Moderators review reports, and serious offences lead to a permanent ban. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long.

Is Talk City free?
Yes. Chatting costs nothing, and the site is paid for by ads from our partners. Filters use karma, which you earn free by chatting. It cannot be bought and has no money value.
Do I need an account?
No. You can start without one. An account is optional and keeps your karma across devices and across the sites in our network. You can delete it at any time on the Account page.
Why does it need my camera?
It is a video chat, so the person you are paired with sees and hears you. Your browser asks for permission, and you can withdraw it in your browser settings at any time.
Can I choose who I meet?
The start form asks who you would like to chat with, and the lobby uses that as a preference when it can. To be sure of it, turn on a gender or country filter, which uses karma.
Who will I meet?
Other adults using Talk City or one of the sites that share its lobby. It is random, so we cannot promise how any conversation will go.
What are the rules?
You must be 18 or older. Harassment, hate, nudity and sexual conduct are not allowed. The full list is on the Rules page.
Is it anonymous?
You do not give your name to chat. We do process some data to run the service and enforce bans, which our privacy policy sets out.
Is this the Talk City from the 1990s?
No. It is a new service that uses the old name. Here is the story.
