Overview

Color Cards is an UNO-style chat game created by Marky. The Talk City implementation was created by Marky and edited by VViLL.

Each player is dealt seven "cards" at the beginning of each round. Cards either have color/number combinations like "Green 9" or Blue 3," or have special designations like the "skip," "reverse," "draw" and "wild" cards. Players take turns playing cards that match the card in play, or drawing cars if they have no card to play. The first player to use up all the cards in their hand is the winner.

How To Play

When you enter the game room, type in "join" to join the game. When the game begins, CardBot (the automated chatter that runs the game) will send you a private message telling you which cards you have in your hand (the bot will send you private messages as your hand changes throughout the game, so you'll want to keep that window open and visible as you play). If you are the only player in the room, CardBot will play with you. CardBot will indicate what card is in play which player starts.

When it's your turn, you'll be told what the card at the top of the pile is. You need to match the color or number of that card, or play a special card. For example, if the card in play is "Red 2," you would have to play a red card (like "Red 9") or a 2 card (like "Green 2") or a special card that matches the color of the card in play (unless the special card is a wild card, which can be played at any time).

There are four types of special cards:

Draw Two - When this card is played, the next person to play must draw 2 cards and forfeit his turn.
Reverse - Reverses the direction of play. If player 2 plays the card, play would revert to player 1 instead of proceeding to player 2.
Skip - The next player to play loses a turn.
Wild - Lets the player decide what color the next player has to match. This card can be played even if the player has another playable card in his hand.
Wild Draw Four - Lets the player decide what color is in play and the next player has to draw four cards and forfeit a turn.

To play a card, just enter "play" followed by the card you want to use. For example, if you wanted to play the Blue 4 card, you would enter "play blue 4" (or use shortcuts like "pl b 4"). If you you don't have any cards you can play, you must draw a card from the pile by typing in "draw" (or "dr"). If you can't play the card you drew, you pass to the next player by entering "pass" (or "pa").

The first player to use up all of their cards wins.

Scoring

The winner is awarded coins. The faster you win, the more coins you get.
