Can I use WebTV/MSN TV for games?

Yes, just go to the Talk City Games room.

I am a room owner/moderator, but I don't see my hammer or op badge while in chat. Why?

This option isn't possible with the WebTV/MSN TV platform. Those using standard computers will see your op badge.

Can I change my font size?

Yes, you can use the settings on your WebTV/MSN TV unit to select small, medium or large font size.
Most WebTV/MSN TV users can change font size by logging into any discussion board, scroll to the bottom of a thread, and use the "Text Size" controls to increase, or decrease the size. This will control both the board, and chat (must be in advanced view).

Why do I see some numbers around some chatters text? I.E. 7hey room...

The number before text is a member using color text - since WebTV/MSN TV cannot view color text in chat it shows the number code instead.

Can I run my own room using WebTV/MsnTV?

Yes.

Can I view profiles while in chat?

No. WebTV/MSN TV can only view one thing at a time, so you would have to leave chat and go to the room message board and click the nicks to open a profile.

Can WebTV/MSN TV users create a profile?

Yes. Just go to your My Rooms page, click on the "My Profile" link and fill in your personal information. WebTV/MSN TV users can't upload a Profile Picture without using a service like Transloader. You'll need to use a standard computer to upload a digital image of yourself if you have one.

I have -wtv attached to my nickname can I get rid of it?

Yes, just go to the Talk City registration page and re-register your nickname without the -wtv part.

A room owner or op gave me temp ops to help out. Why don't I have kick/ban buttons on the Talk City IRC?

Temp ops means you have to type in the whole command to take any action. The ops panel is only available to you if the room owner assigns you a 'C' or 'A' flag via their controls, however if you use an IRC from the WebTV/MSN TV IRC Page, you will have a ops panel with temp ops.

I get a blank screen when trying to get in chat. What can I do?

Try these options:
1.) Hold 'CMD' down and press 'R' five times then let go - This should refresh.
2.) Unplug your WebTV/MSN TV unit from the wall for a few minutes in order to reset your unit.
Also, trying to use Web messenger and chat at once can cause a blank screen.

I paid for a membership, now when I enter chat my WebTV/MSN TV nick shows instead of my Talk City nick. Why?

This had to be done to allow you to use our /nick change feature, you can
1.) /Msg IRC /nick New-Nick-Here
2.) Your WebTV/MSN TV unit allows you to make up to 6 WebTV/MSN TV unit accounts. Use one of those accounts to match the Talk City nick you wish to use.

Why is it some features aren't working such as chat and the message board search feature?

The problem may be on WebTV/MSN TV's end. You can check the web status board on your unit or check the WebTV/MSN TV Status Board (They usually take a few days to update status board) or contact WebTV/MSN TV Customer Service at Support4U@cs.webtv.net or by calling 1-800-469-3288.
